Dental Exams
Along with diligent brushing and flossing, the American Dental Association recommends exams at least twice a year, spaced six months apart.
Checking in with you every six months allows us to maintain an accurate picture of your current oral health. Dr. Kemahlli also looks for signs of gum disease and cavities in their early stages and plan prompt treatment if needed. These appointments also include checking your tongue, throat, head, face, and neck for abnormalities.
Dental x-rays are essential because they tell us what’s happening inside your teeth and under your gums that we can’t see with a visual exam. Dr. Kemahli can find small problems and treat them before they cause discomfort and damage your oral health.
We never take unnecessary x-rays, and you can be confident that if we recommend one, we will explain why and what we hope to learn.
Teeth Cleanings
During your teeth cleanings, our skilled hygienist looks for signs of gingivitis like swollen, inflamed, or bleeding gums. But gum disease is often asymptomatic, and you only know it exists if we find it during a cleaning appointment.
You will receive a thorough brushing and flossing to remove plaque buildup, and our hygienist uses specialized instruments to remove tartar or hardened plaque from your teeth. We finish your cleaning with a tooth polishing to leave you with a clean, fresh feeling and a sparkling smile.
