Our patients have busy, active lives, so we know dentistry isn’t always a priority. But your oral health is important, and we do everything we can to simplify your life by making your dental care easy and convenient.

What Services Does a General Dentist Offer?

Your family has unique needs, so we offer a wealth of preventive and restorative dentistry to ensure that your smile stays healthy and beautiful.

  • Dental exams
  • Teeth cleanings
  • Dental x-rays as needed
  • Emergency dentistry
  • Tooth-colored fillings
  • Crowns and bridges
  • Full and partial dentures
  • Gum disease treatment
  • Root canals
  • Tooth extractions

In addition to these services, we also offer cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign for patients in Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, and surrounding communities.

Healthy Smiles Start with Prevention

It is always easier and more cost-effective to treat small problems than waiting until they cause discomfort or require complex procedures to resolve.

Dental Exams

Along with diligent brushing and flossing, the American Dental Association recommends exams at least twice a year, spaced six months apart.

Checking in with you every six months allows us to maintain an accurate picture of your current oral health. Dr. Kemahlli also looks for signs of gum disease and cavities in their early stages and plan prompt treatment if needed. These appointments also include checking your tongue, throat, head, face, and neck for abnormalities.

Dental x-rays are essential because they tell us what’s happening inside your teeth and under your gums that we can’t see with a visual exam. Dr. Kemahli can find small problems and treat them before they cause discomfort and damage your oral health.

We never take unnecessary x-rays, and you can be confident that if we recommend one, we will explain why and what we hope to learn.

Teeth Cleanings

During your teeth cleanings, our skilled hygienist looks for signs of gingivitis like swollen, inflamed, or bleeding gums. But gum disease is often asymptomatic, and you only know it exists if we find it during a cleaning appointment.

You will receive a thorough brushing and flossing to remove plaque buildup, and our hygienist uses specialized instruments to remove tartar or hardened plaque from your teeth. We finish your cleaning with a tooth polishing to leave you with a clean, fresh feeling and a sparkling smile.

Gum Disease: A Threat to Your Health and Well-Being

It would be hard to overemphasize how critical healthy gums are to your oral health and general well-being. You can’t separate the two because oral problems affect your systemic health, and systemic conditions like diabetes also present symptoms in your mouth.

In addition to diabetes, poor gum health has been proven to contribute to other problems like heart disease, lung disease, arthritis, stroke, dementia, and many others.

Dr. Kemahli agrees with the recommendation of the American Dental Association to schedule dental exams and cleanings every six months. These are easy appointments that offer tremendous benefits and won’t take much time out of your busy schedule.

Dental exams with our Bellevue dentist on a routine basis help you in several ways. You benefit because seeing us periodically for checkups helps you avoid the discomfort of dental problems and the need for complex or costly dentistry.

Teeth cleanings every six months are crucial. Periodontal disease is a widespread problem that affects half of all US adults over age 30. It’s not just an oral health problem because bacteria in your mouth can travel to other parts of your body. Researchers are finding new connections every day, but so far, gum disease has been linked to heart and lung disease, diabetes, stroke, dementia, low birth weight, and many others.

The good news is that it is also highly preventable. And if you do develop gum disease, our dental hygienist will find it during your routine cleaning appointment and plan treatment accordingly.

Seeing you throughout the year also allows you and Dr. Kemahli to develop a trusting relationship. You can feel confident that you will always have a friendly professional to turn to who knows you and is familiar with your history.

If it’s time for your next exam and teeth cleaning, call our Bellevue dental office to schedule an appointment. Been a while since your last dental visit? Don’t worry; we will never judge or lecture you because our only goal is to help you improve your oral health.
